Our Life Mentors (Happy Mother's Day)

Our Life Mentors (Happy Mother's Day)

Mother's Day in Australia is the same as the date observed in the United States. Argentina however is different and for the past 5 years I have been celebrating Mother's Day on a different day to my Mum back in Argentina.

This year is much different - finally after years, my sister, myself and my Mum are all together in Australia, celebrating this special day as a family. (Eating plenty of BesoBite Alfajores of course).

Like many, I was separated and unable to see my Mum due to the covid international border closure. That desire to connect and feel a bond with someone during that time was still there and I was lucky to find a "sort of Australia Mum" during this tough time.

Over 2 years ago I met an amazing lady named Tanya. Tanya was moving out of her house and she generously gave me a beautiful dining table which she had in the family for over 20 years. This was the perfect introduction to what Tanya was like a person. Caring and always giving back.

Over time Tanya and myself shared many great experiences and grew very close. Her sweet nature and deep wisdom helped me great through the toughest times in business, love and life in general. She reminded me of all the beautiful traits my Mum possessed and for that reason it felt so natural to connect her. A sort of Life Coach and Mother Figure mixed in one. How great full I am for meeting her and I was thrilled when she got to met my Mum a few months ago.

My Mum's name is also Marta and she'd the toughest person I've ever met in my life. When I was 4 years old my parents got divorced and my Mum was left to raise 3 kids by herself. Over those years raising the family she worked in many different jobs. She worked in Admin, Education (Kinder Teacher) but mostly in direct sales, selling clothing. It was tough for her but her determination to feed and look after her kids was ever ending. As a result of her hard work my Sister and myself have had the opportunity to save and migrate to Australia and my Brother is a successful agricultural engineer back in Argentina.

The biggest downside to my Mum's hard work and commit was the fact that she never had time to met another partner and has missed out on years of love and companionship. She has always put projects and mentoring me before every else and most recently joined me and helping myegrow Besobite further. Her guidance and advice for the past few months have been invaluable and I'm so great full to have her by my side.

BesoBite is not only now my dream, but hers too and sharing that love and growth in this blog is wondering gift leading into Mother's Day.

I want BesoBite Alfajores to symbolise that love for your Mum too! Every bite is a kiss from us, to you, to your Mum!

We are all so lucky to have them in our lives, not everyone can say that this year and I hope those people can feel comfort in memories of their beautiful life mentors.

Thank you for reading,

Love Maria Marta xo
